Nan T. Quintin

www.nanquintin.com

Nan Quintin is an award-winning artist who specializes in New England and agricultural scenes rendered in acrylics and watercolors. Her unique perspective is influenced by the experience of growing up on a small farm in Groton, Massachusetts. She finds the family homestead inspirational in any season or weather and often paints there "en plein air".

Nan's enjoyment of all aspects of farm living and life in New England is reflected in her favorite painting subjects, which include gardening, haymaking, pets, livestock, and the local flora and fauna.

The artist, who has always loved art and painting in particular, states: "I grew up on a farm in New England, and many of my paintings have agricultural themes. We rode horses, kept cows, chickens and other farm animals. We also had a large garden, built the barn and other structures, and made hay. We enjoyed simple activities such as making scarecrows, sledding, skating or playing with our friends and pets out of doors. By painting from my memories, as well as on location, I am able to share not just an image or record of how things were, but also the rich feeling of being there. It brings me great pleasure to be able to share my talents with others."

Nan exhibits locally and has won awards for her paintings.  She will be selling some of her artwork and note cards at the Groton Community Home Tour.  Some of the cards for sale are reproductions of her miniature acrylic paintings. New note card designs this year include teddy bears, a ragdoll, and scenes of Groton.

Nan is a full-time artist who lives in Pepperell, Massachusetts.
