Groton Community School has benefited greatly and continues to benefit from our affiliation with the Learning Express educational toy store in Acton, MA. Founded by a former Board of Directors President with board member collaboration as a fundraising idea, the concept of the Learning Express toy stores has grown in popularity, with numerous franchises nation-wide. We are proud that this first Learning Express store - owned and operated by Groton Community School - inspired so many others to participate in what became the Learning Express Corporation. Although the Acton store was sold by Groton Community School on November 18, 2005, we encourage families to continue their support of the Acton Learning Express store. The school will continue to benefit with the receipt of a small royalty from the store’s revenues for several years. We would like to thank all the Groton Community School Families and Friends for all the support they have given to our Learning Express store: making purchases, volunteering to help in the store, and attending our Learning Express Toy Faires. Most of all, thank you to each and every dedicated Learning Express Board Member who has given so much time, talent, and effort in overseeing the LE Acton store in the past and present. And finally, special thanks go to store Manager, Kathy, and all of her hardworking Staff for all their assistance to GCS Staff and Families.
