 We celebrated children and everyone who helps them learn and grow for the Week of the Young Child 2008! Highlights included displaying children's "kite" artwork throughout the community in local businesses, a school concert with children's performer Wendy Frank, School Spirit Day with face painting, and special events and projects in classrooms. Class projects included: donating a class-made Groton ABC book to the Groton Public Library; creating flags and banners; painting t-Shirts for children in orphanages in China; painting canvas grocery bags to care for the earth; having special performances and an art show for families; making gifts for friends, families, and local police officers. A very special school-wide project was collecting small donations, books for resale, beds, and car seats for the Beds4Kids Project through the Lowell Wish Project. A truckload of items went to the project, in addition to raising funds for 10 beds for children of families in need!
