At Groton Community School we
appreciate individuals with warmth, openness, good humor, creativity, and diverse talents! Staff are chosen for their professional qualifications, experience, and commitment to young children.
Our dedicated and caring staff members strive to provide children and families with the best possible early childhood experiences, and we reward their professionalism and commitment with benefits and staff development opportunities. Staff enjoy medical, dental, retirement and disability benefits, paid personal/sick time and vacations, and tuition discounts for their children. We encourage and financially assist staff to participate in staff development workshops, seminars, conferences, and coursework. We offer on-site staff training opportunities throughout the year, and generate ideas for professional development through staff collaboration and group goal setting. Several staff members attend the annual conference sponsored by the National Association for the Education of Young Children each year. Our salaries are competitive and dependent upon each individual's training and professional experience in the field with opportunities for advancement.
Teaching Staff at Groton Community
School meet the qualifications of the Department of Early Education and
Care and have varied educational backgrounds. Head Teachers have a
degree in Education, a Bachelors Degree in a related field, or a
Bachelors Degree in another field with a Certificate in Early Childhood
Education.
Teachers work toward the credentials of a Head Teacher. Assistant
Teachers have energy, enthusiasm, and an enjoyment of young children, and also possess a desire to learn and grow in the field.
Each teacher has a solid framework
in early childhood education and experience gained through training and
working with young children. All teachers fully share the philosophy,
goals, and values of our program.
Previous experience is highly valued, but we welcome promising
individuals who are new to the field.
We have full-time and part-time teaching opportunities at Groton
Community School, during the school year and also in our Camp
Kaleidoscope summer program.
