On Board Newsletter Fall 2017

Welcome back to all of our GCS families from the Board of Directors! Fall is such an exciting time at GCS, from making new friends to learning new things. We hope that all of our families have transitioned well into the 2017-2018 school year.

In addition to the Weekly Email Updates that you have been receiving, the Board of Directors will periodically send this On Board Newsletter, which aims to give you a bigger picture of our recent accomplishments and our upcoming events.

One of those recent accomplishments was our successful Parent Information and Social Night, also known as our Annual General Meeting. We want to thank everyone that came to mingle with the Board of Directors and hear a little bit more about what our group does for GCS. If you weren’t able to attend our Parent Social this past Monday, but still want to hear more about what our Board of Directors does, please email us at boardofdirectors@grotoncommunityschool.org.

While we have many upcoming events that we’re working on (see below for more information on our Fall Fix-Up efforts and Boxtops, Amazon Smile and Fall Apparel sale fundraising plans) one that I wanted to highlight is the 13th Annual Groton Community Home Tour. This year’s Home Tour will take place on Nov. 18. It is GCS’s biggest fundraiser (bringing in nearly $25,000!) and is such a fun and unique way to kick off the holiday season with friends and families. See more on the Home Tour below or email hometour@grotoncommunityschool.org if you have any specific questions!

As always, we welcome feedback, questions and participation – please feel free to talk to any Board of Directors member or email me at boardofdirectors@grotoncommunityschool.org.

We look forward to another fun-filled and exciting year at GCS!

Kate Ferriola, President, Board of Directors
