ABOUT THE EVENT

Explore the community. Decipher clues. Support local businesses. Discover something new!

While the Groton Community Home Tour was an anticipated staple for many years, Groton Community School was not able to proceed with this popular event in 2021. As we discovered last fall with the first Groton Community Tour, enjoying a safe, local outing was still possible!  We hosted a day of fun for all ages with a self-guided driving tour and community scavenger hunt.

Families gathered and made a team! Teams started outside at our newly renovated GCS building at 110 Boston Rd, Groton, to collect tour materials, shop local vendors and buy tickets to take a chance on some amazing prizes and then your adventure begins! Teams deciphered clues leading them to 20+ mystery destinations to collect kite stamps in their event guide book.  Some locations offered an outdoor activity or teams were challenged to complete a task!  Participants who showed or sent completed Kite Stamp Sheets were entered into the Grand Prize Drawing!

Community Tour attendees were encouraged to order tickets in advance online. Group tickets ($50 per vehicle) and lunch refreshment options purchased online were ready at the school on the day of the tour. All proceeds benefited our non-profit, early childhood center, which supports the growth and development of young children.

Participants were required to wear masks and adhere to social-distancing mandates abiding by event markers separating parties. Hours of the event were 10:00-4:00 with staggered start times and locations to allow space between groups.
